A Taste of What's to Come

Hello! Firstly, a great big thank you to all my lovely followers. Starting up a new blog is a long and rather hard process, and you guys keep me motivated to continue! Seeing a new follower really excites me and gives me reason to continue what I'm doing, so thank you.

Some of you are probably wondering what this blog is really about. For starters, I'm Zoe, and Etsy and jewelry making are both big parts of my life; I love both so much! One of the things I'll be blogging about here is my jewelry business. I'll post photos of new work and works in progress, along with little things like fun new beads! I also hope to use this blog as a way to learn more about what people are looking for. I may create a post asking if I should use pearls or agate chips to complement bamboo wood, or perhaps if a particular design would look best in copper or brass. I hope you're willing to share your thoughts so I can learn from them! And if anyone's interested, giveaways featuring my work are also in the works!

I spend a fair amount of time on my favorite website, Etsy, which is where I do much of my business with Stonetree Jewelry. I plan to create posts showing some of the wonderful things I find on Etsy, as well as weekly (or so!) interviews with owners of beautiful Etsy shops. If you don't love Etsy as much as I do, keep reading my blog...I just may change that!

I also love photography, inspiring things, and my rural life in Maine. It's safe to say I'll be skimming these topics in my posts as well! I hope you all enjoy my blog and reading more about me, my life, my business, and some of my favorite things. Thank you so much for following, or just for dropping by! I'll see you all next post!

Books I Want to Write

I love writing. I love putting pen to paper and fingers to keyboard to create something shocking, meaningful, or beautiful. Finishing a book is one of my life goals; probably one of the more feasible ones. I don't know what this book (or books!) will be comprised of, but if I had all the time, patience, and writing ability in the world, I would write every one of these:

1. Petrichor
My gosh, it sounds incredible. Petrichor is defined as the scent of rain on dry Earth. Poetic as can be, but I don't know where I'll go with it. It doesn't hurt to start with a title, though, and I do love this one.

2. My Unorganized Opinions on Etsy
Bless everyone close to me who's ever patiently sat across the table as I incessantly griped and preached about this website (which I must praise since it's probably changed my life and outlook on many things for the better). I have my opinions and bits of knowledge on Etsy, and I feel a tad too proud of myself sometimes for having them. My book would be terribly disorganized and somewhat informative, if you could sit through reading it.

3. Idealism
I've been pondering this lately. I would love to write something (epic novel, novel, novella, short story, paragraph, sentence, fragment, etc.) about the concept of idealism and what life in an ideal world would actually be like.

4. A Photographic Journey
I love these books; filled with images of a place or time in history and captions and clever anecdotes and poems that come together to make you feel like you're standing right there, right in the middle of it all. And I would love to write and depict one. So much.

5. The Ultimate Procrastinator's Guide
I am such a ridiculous procrastinator. That means I would be the perfect author to bring light to this topic. I really need to do this. I will start tomorrow.

Etsy Finds: Close to Home

As the days and nights continue to cool, it's time to wave goodbye to summer and welcome fall with open arms! In celebration of the equinox (it's this Saturday...yes, that soon!) and my home, here is a selection of Etsy finds perfect for fall, all crafted by the hands of fellow Mainers. Enjoy!

Today's Resolution...

...to be a better blogger!

Today I stumbled upon my own blog. Yes, stumbling upon one's own blog is very possible; as I Google searched my brand name to see my rankings this morning, I noticed a familiar address at blogspot.com. I was busy this summer (weren't we all?) and managed to forget entirely about my blog's existence. I don't know how I did it, either. However, my resolution for today (I can't wait for New Year's!) is to be a better blogger.

I will try my very best to keep updates fresh and regular, sharing images, thoughts, new work, and events with my appreciated followers. And I may even try to grow my following. I am a strong believer in the "build it and they will come" mindset, but I'm also impatient. Time to build my following and my blog as autumn makes its way to Maine!

In other news, my shop will reopen before the month ends. In the meantime, I'm preparing for an upcoming craft event and browsing cameras in the search for an upgrade. My old Kodak point and shoot is familiar and decent, but I think it's about time I make a change! For now, I'll mull over possible post ideas and prepare for my craft show and the grand reopening of Stonetree Jewelry.

Until next post,
Zoe

Nostalgia

I have this strange fixation with nostalgia. I watch childhood television programs through and through, I long too often for the distant past, and I obsess over all things sentimental. I don't want the past, though. It's just nice to remember and imagine.
